COVID-19: Nature’s Vengeance upon Humanity?

First of all, I do not personally believe in supernatural myths and miracles at all, and I am a non-vegetarian. So, I am an equal criminal in case of eating dead animals.

If I described nature as a person, I would call him a male with a sorted life. Nature does not care what we do to him; he only comes back with consequences that only we have to face. Nature always claim his things back; he makes his ways, his paths to walk upon. Plus he has so much to give and offer to the beings. Nature is like the perfect partner in our lives, feeding us for the better. The best thing about him is that it allows animals and plants and biodiversity to thrive. All life up till now has been possible because of the interactions between millions of species and their impact on each other and the environment. However, what can happen when we humans mess with it?

The one thing we need to understand that humans can only thrive if we live in a union. Otherwise, we are just like an ant, trying to carry something bigger than ourselves. That is where religion comes in. We stay united through religions that sometimes also go south, ending up in dividing us, which should not be the case at all. Unity through countries looks like a dream; we are not only separated by religions but also by our intelligent quotients.

Creating unity helps in maintaining our standards of living. What we should consume, fashion, finance, skill, and jobs. But countries do divide our union due to different cultures & history, our distinguished eating cuisines, music genres, education, environment, fashion, infrastructure, and whatnot.

Killing and consumption of Animals

That is where the gaps begin, and I would specifically mention the difference between china’s wet market and any other country eating cuisine, which is as diversified the best it can be. Furthermore, that is where these viruses come in, of which we do not have any proper vaccine for, infecting in masses, causing deaths through the transmission, spreading like wildfire. Killing an animal or any other living thing, especially for dining purposes, is wrong. Chicken has been a great snack since 10,000 years ago, or it was like a survival stunt for the lack of proper food, which can be an appropriate reason to kill the weaker ones and consume.

We, humans, are the smartest species on earth. We know how to survive in competition. And that is why we did, kill, and eat them all. Just assume if that happens to any of our family people, how would we feel? We know the answer.

Affecting the Natural Infrastructure

No matter the country, we are all aware of how all we have acquired lands and spaces that we do not even use properly. To create physical buildings and infrastructure, we need more land, and which causes more deforestation. Deforestation leaves no option for animals to survive but to move to the city, looking for food and livelihood. So, the next time you see stray monkeys roaming around your streets, feed them as you should.

We humans beings need movement, and movement creates chaos, chaos creates hustle, and sometimes hustle creates irresponsibility. Irresponsibility leads to honest mistakes, and those honest mistakes result in hurting nature. As we have all noticed, nature is healing. How? Less movement, less chaos. Those worst potential mistakes are not happening now, resulting in curing the environment.

Humans evolved lately, and surely before there were many animals back then. Some of them become extinct; some of them are living happily in the Amazon. If we go to the root cause for COVID-19, the virus started with a bat, and then went to a pangolin, and then to a human. This all happened in one place, i.e. China. The Wuhan wet market is famous for its diverse availability of dead animals. According to media reports, besides seafood, various food items sold at the market. Lack of proper hygiene and space, lead to the transmission of viruses from one animal to the other, and ultimately affecting the humans.

Karma

I do believe in karma, even though there is not a physical proof of it. The rule is straightforward and a fair one: For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. The action includes us killing those animals for our eatery survival and after a point of time, personal gratification. The result is somehow that virus transmitted back to us. Something billion times smaller, affecting billions of us, locking us in our homes, narrowing our living days, though we are breathing, and eating, but are in fear of getting infected all day. Creating more repetitive and stressful small decisions for us to sanitize before we touch anything is even more frustrating. This period is undoubtedly a test for us as well, to be with our closest ones, spending the time of our lives.

The happiest person on the earth right now is earth because it is finally getting some fresh air to breathe, to be more hydrated with the cleanest water ever, to be more lightweight with less transportation, and to live in the silence of itself. I wish we can keep it that way, so, enjoy it while it lasts.

I hope you like this article, leave a clap if you feel like it. I would love to get your opinions for whether COVID-19, is nature’s vengeance upon us, or not.
