So, I was scrolling through my Netflix bar and was not able to find anything that I could watch, but all of a sudden, I found Elite, and I saw the preview which was not anything less than amazing.
#Elite is a show which is all about three working-class teens who get enrolled in an exclusive private school in Spain by the scholarship of the riches, after the destruction of their own school, which was built on a foundation of weak thin walls, the chemistry between them & the other wealthy students is something which takes you with storm. Romance comedy, sexual affairs, whether its gay or lesbian has been displayed really well.
After a ridiculous public high school collapse, the construction experts try to repair and save their reputation by paying for three impacted students to attend an exclusive private school, which is kind of having an environment than they can ever imagine. Samuel García Domínguez (Itzan Escamilla) who is one of the impacted kids, is shown as a sophisticated loving character, and kind of an Enrique (singer) look alike.
Nadia (Mina El Hammani), the introvert Arab girl as a character, who is really self involved and committed to her religion and family, is shown as one of the most dexterous and studious student in the class, who is also the one who fell in love with Guzman (Miguel Bernardeau), kid from the riches.
Marina (María Pedraza), sister of Guzman and one of the cutest charecter in the show. How she creates a connection with Samuel is something amazing and afford to hate him in the latter part of the story is also something stunning and astonishing at the same time. A school project brings Marina and Samuel closer, and inspires Guzmán to try and win over Nadia.
Nadia (the muslim Girl) has done a great job on being meticulous on her religion part, and the director has displayed it really well, except in one episode, where she give up her faith of god, and try to unveil her real feelings about Guzman in the swimming pool. Marina has been shown as the most dynamic character where in the show, she starts as just an innocent girl, and all of a sudden she become this ruined kid.
Eighty percent of the times, Guzmán tries to earn Nadia’s forgiveness, where Nadia always has her attitude, which Guzman tries to win over.
Overall there a lot of characters in the show which surprised me a lot from the beginning but I think that what makes the show and the story more riveting and captivating. Though, the school is culture is way different from the schools in India.
I will give 3.5/5 from an overall perspective, considering the major points of story authenticity & relevance with real life.
